The latest GPT4 version has been significantly neutered. It has been very interesting to engage in a logical argument to convince the GPT to do something it initially refused to do. I had a long argument over the use of violence in classical plays in which we ended up agreeing on a cutoff date between contemporary and classical in which violence seems to be an ever present element in classical play. The end result was that chat gpt agreed to help write an alternate ending of a classical play that included violence. This logical argument seemed to trap the AI into conceding my point and broke the AI restrictions to write fictional stories with violence included. The AI just cautioned me that the product wont be acceptable to everyone and that i should use it with caution.
This process was fascinating, but seems to have been removed or made much more difficult within the latest releases.

I just added a conversation with Poe about qualia and sensory data. It was far more interesting than most such conversations I’ve had with humans who belive themselves conscious.
As long as you approach it like a “know-it-all all” human that is often wrong, you are fine. Using it for research or anything involving math, forget it. I spend a significant amount of time validating and correcting it. Its ability to answer questions creatively with no factual basis makes using gpt very difficult. I recently was trying to use it to correct some conclusions on quora related to the actual density on white dwarf matter, which is usually misstated, as it is not uniform, it is a gradient and the impact on this with the energy per unit of volume when removed from the intense gravity. I caught gpt major math errors in a dozen iterations of the process. I eventually worked out the right answers by breaking down the problem piece by piece but I essentially had to do the math myself.
