Flying Away

The idea of hurtling down the highway inside a ton of steel, twice as fast as the most highly motivated cheetah can run, just doesn’t register as real in our poor monkey brains.

How much stranger, then, that something as big as “here” can get should accelerate us into the air istelf, lift us over peaks and seas, insulated from thin and frigid air rushing by at half the speed of sound, and deliver us in a few hours to a different world!

It is beyone our grasp.  No choice then but the temporary suspension of disbelief.  SciFi movies don’t seem just as real, they are just as real.

I disconnect.
