When I reflect upon my life
\nI only see its surfaces.
\nBest refract the rainbow light
\nthat penetrates its circuses.<\/p>\n
When I was young I had to fight
\nto stabilize my sanity:
\nI had to trust that I was right,
\nand thus invited vanity.<\/p>\n
Self-reliance is essential,
\nbut it also is a trap,
\ncreating the confused potential:
\nterritory versus map.<\/p>\n
Now my children try to teach me
\nall the things I\u2019m doing wrong.
\nIt\u2019s difficult for them to reach me
\nusing lessons hard and long.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve always loved my arrogance:
\nI trust my judgement more than God\u2019s.
\nI leave this as inheritance:
\nto trust yourself against all odds.<\/p>\n
