I wanted to write a poem of Raven returning
\nto check up on the Humans in this World
\nand how he’d be dismayed at forests burning
\nand at the fascist monsters’ flag unfurled.<\/p>\n
And how he’d try to muster some amusement
\nor play some tricks to make us realize
\nthe folly of our natural abusement
\nor anything, to cut us down to size.<\/p>\n
But Raven isn’t mine to play around with.
\nI can’t appropriate the Native culture.
\nI’m just another white male wordsmith,
\nnot an idea-thief or meme-vulture.<\/p>\n
I guess I’ll have to find a way to tell
\nmy tale in my own words at least as well.<\/p>\n
