We fly away from that initial Bang,
\nand yet we cling together.\u00a0 Gravity
\npulls even protons into stellar gangs,
\npressing them to fuse so brilliantly<\/p>\n
they burn and light the sky for many eons,
\nwaiting for their neighbors to explode
\nand spew abroad their heaviest accretions
\nto bond into a planetary lode.<\/p>\n
And as the comets crash upon those worlds,
\non some a sea may form and nurture life
\nwhich turns organic gases into swirls
\nof oxygen and compost \u2013 sugars rife \u2013<\/p>\n
that sink under the weight of other layers
\nuntil their fire is stored in fossil form
\nto wait until discovered by surveyors
\nwho dig it up and burn it, trading harm<\/p>\n
