\nNobody cares, or even should, if you
\ncan make a poem of your worst mistake.
\nGo think of things more practical to do.<\/p>\n
Your soul is bent indeed, like Narcissus,
\nto serve therewith your ego, nothing more.
\nIf you could meet your Maker at the bus
\nyou’d only try to beat Him to the door.<\/p>\n
Your true account, if only you had heard,
\nis empty. There is nothing to present
\nbeyond a tribute to the molded word
\nthat knows (as you do not) the thought it meant.<\/p>\n
And yet… and yet… the music of the spheres
\nrings in the voice of any well-turned phrase.
\nThe power to move can overcome our fears
\nof suborning all that power to self-praise.<\/p>\n
